To maintain your oral health, you should undergo a checkup twice a year. Your hygienist will remove bacteria, plaque, and tartar, and your dentist will check for the early warning signs of decay and gum disease. We also offer sealants and fluoride treatments to strengthen teeth and combat cavities. This treatment can benefit children and adults.
We offer special care for gum disease. With scaling and planing, your dentist can remove pockets of bacteria, as well as rough spots on your tooth roots where bacteria can collect. He can also use our advanced diode laser to eradicate bacteria and stimulate healing. When needed, our dentists can perform minor periodontal surgery, including frenectomies and gingivectomies.
Root canal therapy can eliminate advanced decay and save your tooth. Dr. Michael Tufton or Dr. Peter Tufton will remove the decay and all inner tissue before sealing the tooth, preserving the outer structure. Finally, the tooth is restored with a dental crown. We make this procedure comfortable using the DentalVibe® Injection Comfort System to administer anesthesia.
Sometimes extraction is the best solution for severe dental trauma or decay. We can remove a single compromised tooth, or we can perform full-mouth extractions in preparation for dentures. Our dentists also offer wisdom teeth extractions on a case-by-case basis. They will never recommend removal unless it is necessary for optimal health.
We are proud to be a multi-generational practice. In fact, many of the patients we saw as children still come to our office, bringing their own kids for treatment. Dr. Peter Tufton has been treating children for 45 years, and he knows how to make young patients feel comfortable. We can provide nitrous oxide during treatment, and we have a treasure chest where kids can choose a prize after their appointment.
We provide a full range of emergency services, including root canals, extractions, repairs for broken crowns, and treatment for knocked out teeth. If you or your child has an urgent concern, contact us as soon as possible. We can usually get you in for a same-day appointment, or, if it is after business hours, the next day. In the meantime, we will explain how to minimize discomfort at home.
As a true family practice, we proudly treat many patients with special needs. Our fully accessible office is comfortably furnished. We also offer gentle, compassionate services designed to help special needs patients receive excellent care. We will take the time to make you or your loved one feel at home, explaining all treatments and their benefits.
